From June 11th to November 13th 2016 the Forte di Bard, the main cultural center of Valle d’Aosta, is hosting the exhibition Elliott Erwitt – Retrospective.
Made by Associazione Forte di Bard in collaboration with Magnum Photos Paris, the exhibition presents the world premiere of a new project for a retrospective of the immense work of Elliott Erwitt, one of the great protagonists of photography of our time.
The images were selected between the most significant and iconic of his large production and cover a time span ranging from 1948 to 2005.
The exhibition is curated by Andréa Holzherr, Global Exhibitions Director, Magnum Photos International, Paris and Gabriele Accornero, CEO of the Associazione Forte di Bard. In the Cellar halls will be exhibited 137 photos included in a time span ranging from 1948, the year of photos View of New York, USA until 2005.
The exhibition also features a video with an interview with the photographer recorded exclusively for the Forte di Bard in his New York studio created in January 2016, the short film Elliott Erwitt: I Bark at Dogs (2011) by Douglas Sloan and some pictures of the project André Solidor.
