Artemide Unveils Latest Showroom in Chicago

The 2,800 square-foot gallery by one of the world’s leading lighting manufacturers features design, outdoor and architectural luminaire collections

September 2015 – Chicago, IL – Artemide, a leading manufacturer for the high-end professional and residential illumination sectors, is pleased to announce the opening of its new showroom in Chicago.

The new Artemide Chicago flagship store, designed by architecture firm Studio de Bevilacqua, is located steps away from the Merchandise Mart at 351 West Hubbard Street. The 2,800 square-foot showroom has been designed to showcase the full range of lighting solutions from the brand, including new products, iconic fixtures and the latest innovative lights that will meet the demands of every architectural project.
Studio de Bevilacqua maintained the integrity of the industrial building and incorporated the existing structure and architectural details, like exposed brick walls and wooden ceiling beams, into the design. By adding walls to separate, but not enclose, display areas there is a seamless flow from room to room. The suspended cloud ceilings allowed Artemide to display ceiling and suspended fixtures at a realistic height without compromising the original ceiling structure.
Three large windows on West Hubbard Street allow passersby to enjoy the world of lighting offered by Artemide and peek through the entire space. From one display area to the other, each visitor creates its own path through the collections, experiencing the various innovative lighting solutions. The showroom is designed to serve as an exhibition space and lighting competency center. The center serves as a meeting point and consulting space for design professionals, whether they are working on residential, hospitality, office, retail or even outdoor urban and landscaping projects.

“The Chicago market has been integral to the growth of Artemide in North America. We are thrilled to re-open this location for the sophisticated consumers, interior designers and architects of Chicago. Through the new showroom we will showcase a wide array of products that reflect the lighting competences that the Artemide team has developed over the years,” says Ernesto Gismondi, Founder of the Artemide Group.
Since the company was founded in 1959, Artemide has been associated with the best in Italian Design: a true digest of vision, beauty, technology and outstanding manufacturing quality. Product collections are the synthesis of Artemide’s Human and Responsible Light philosophy combined with a true expertise in design and materials. In other words, the latest innovative LED technologies meet traditional savoir-faire like glass blowing ancestral techniques.

In honor of the occasion, Artemide will celebrate the re-opening of the Chicago showroom with a special cocktail party on September 24, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm. To join the event, please RSVP:
