San Francisco, January 15, 2014 – The lamp Empatia, designed by Carlotta de Bevilacqua and Paola di Arianello forArtemide, has received the prestigious Wallpaper*Design Award 2014 for the  “Best Transparency”.

The award, now at its tenth edition, is attributed to the people, locations, projects, and ideas that contributed to theWallpaper* magazine during the past year.

The acknowledgement is well represented by the lamp Empatia, originating from a combination between thegroundbreaking LED technology implemented by Artemide and the great craft tradition of Venetian blown glass.

The appliance boasts perfect balance between light and surface, between subtle densities and transparencies. Transparency and opaqueness are skilfully arranged to ensure that the glass reflects and diffuses an inspiring, non-glaring, yet high-efficiency light.

Empatia is an optical device whose heart is a high-performance LED light engine, which controls light ensuring maximum yield and efficiency.

Empatia is available in the table, wall, suspension, and floor versions: all the appliances are clear, pure, highly transparent, turned into actual one-offs by the skilful craft make.
