On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art invites the most iconic artists of its history to celebrate the creativity, boldness, and innovation that are part of its tradition with a display of multiple transformations.
In 1998 Issey Miyake had been invited by the Cartier Foundation to introduce the show Making Things, revealing the secrets of a universe where creativity, elegance, innovation, and love for life blended into a playful scenario that is still well-known.
For the Mémoires Vives installation, the Cartier Foundation gave free reign to Issey Miyake to share this thirtieth anniversary with the public.
True to his famous philosophy, which he conveyed through Making Things, Issey Miyake offers a spectacularly luminous installation developed in the garden and on the ground floor of the Cartier Foundation’s premises. The appliances of the IN-EI ISSEY MIYAKE collection define space in a silent dance of lights interacting with the other works on display. Issey Miyake, supported by Artemide – the manufacturer and distributor of the IN-EI ISSEY MIYAKE appliances – leads visitors on a journey made of lights and shades through time and contemporary creativity.
While the IN-EI installation is on display until 31st August, the ‘Mémoires Vives’ exhibition continues until 21st September 2014 at the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art, 261 bd Raspail, Paris.
