Artemide

A tribute to Ettore Sottsass

Ph. Barbara Radice

With the project “A Tribute to Ettore Sottsass (1917-2017)” Artemide celebrates one hundred years after the birth of Ettore Sottsass, to remember the deep bond, not only of a fertile professional collaboration, but also of an important friendship with Ernesto Gismondi, president and founder of Artemide.

Among the projects born from this synergy there are the famous Callimaco and Pausania lamps, now part of the Masters’ Piece collection by Artemide, collecting contemporary design classics.

“A Tribute to Ettore Sottsass” comes through several initiatives, at the same time at the Triennale of Milan, “Ettore Sottsass. There is a Planet “, curated by Barbara Radice, from 15 September 2017 to 11 March 2018, and at the exhibition “Ettore Sottsass: Design Radical” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York (July 21 – October 8).

Artemide_lighting, the official Instagram account of Artemide, accompanies design lovers with stories, photo shoots, short quotes telling the story and the synergy between Artemide and the iconic architect and designer.

The tribute to Sottsass will simultaneously involve the showcases of the most important Artemide showrooms around the world, starting from Milan in Corso Monforte 19, but above all in our first online store.
