With a long-standing local footprint in China, Artemide now confirms its interest in the country by renewing its participation in the second edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai, the event that will bring the best of Made in Italy to the Shanghai Exhibition Center, at the heart of the Chinese city.

“We strongly rely on the Chinese market, which is by now ready to understand the changes under way in the lighting sector and to appreciate the quality of manufacturing and the most advanced and developed technologies of our appliances,” says Carlotta de Bevilacqua, Vice President and CEO of the Artemide Group. “For Artemide, designing light means investigating and addressing technical issues through research and testing of new potential and not only designing a shape.”
Shanghai will be a very interesting stage for Artemide to unveil its most recent lighting projects conveying its constant focus on cutting-edge solutions and interpreting the Oriental culture and tradition with a contemporary approach.

At the show, Artemide will introduce the Yanzi collection, born from a collaboration with the Neri&Hu firm founded by architects Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu in Shanghai. Yanzi is a family of appliances expressing a perfect blend of tradition and innovation, sustainable interaction of material, form, and light. It is an open system, ideal to create lightweight compositions and lightscapes. The research carried out by Neri&Hu in collaboration with Artemide continues with the lamp nh1217, which introduces intuitive use and recalls the use of lanterns.

At the exhibition, the culture of light of Artemide is also conveyed by the projects designed by great architects as an expression of the best innovative and patented technologies. These include the appliances Orsa by Foster+Partners, Unterlinden by Herzog & De Meuron, and Alphabet of Light by BIG.

The display also features smart and highly emotional lighting solutions: the suspension lamp Ameluna, born from the partnership with Mercedes-Benz Style, as well as products providing versatile and flexible solutions to all architectural requirements such as the LoT project designed by Tapio Rosenius and the Algoritmo and A24 system designed by Carlotta de Bevilacqua.

At the booth are also present the most iconic “signature” items like Tolomeo family designed by Michele de Lucchi: at 30 years of age it is still “Ready for anything” and still modern.

The iconic lamps Pausania and Callimaco are also included as a tribute to architect and designer Ettore Sottsass on the hundredth anniversary of his birth.
