Jean Nouvel and Artemide at Musée des Arts Décoratifs
Paris, October 27, 2016 – The works or renowned architect Jean Nouvel will be the highlights of the exhibition “Jean Nouvel, mes meubles d’architecte – sens et essence”, at Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, from October 27, 2016 to February 12, 2017.
The inspiring display includes over 100 works authored by the master – furniture and lighting appliances interacting with the museum’s permanent collections, producing unprecedented situations and arousing new emotions.
The works on display include the lamps Objective and Equilibrist, lighting projects characterized by neat and essential forms born from the long-standing partnership between Jean Nouvel and Artemide, the expression of shared design values and of the ongoing pursuit of a new way to conceive light. A smart, poetic light, capable to arouse emotions and awe.
The scenic effect of the show is further enhanced by special products designed ad hoc by Artemide: objects and spaces are revealed to visitors through the contrast of lights and shadows creating different perspectives and appropriate ambiances for each space.
The partnership between Artemide and Jean Nouvel has resulted into important lighting projects for architectural works, such as the Louvre in Abu Dhabi and the Château La Dominique: both projects are a testimonial of the skill of Artemide, capable to reach its climax both with high-tech products and with items that convey great craftsmanship and high-quality manufacturing.
In the partnership between Artemide and Jean Nouvel, aimed at sharing objectives and visions, design research is an interaction between man, light, and landscape.
