Paoli designs for such brands as Artemide, Nemo, Ligne Roset, and Fiamitalia.
His firm deals with products, as well as with interior design and architecture, and develops projects for shops, showrooms, and display set-ups and booths.
As an art director he collaborated with Tucano, a manufacturer of laptop bags and electronic accessories, and Slide, a furnishing item manufacturer.
In 2013 he founded his own brand “Seminato Mercadante,” with which he produces his own objects derived from in-depth research, testing, and innovation. His brand is named after the work place of his creative team, an inspiring refurbished and converted two-storey area inside an early 1900 building in Milan.
In 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2017, 2018, and 2019 he won the Good Design Award in Chicago.
In 2010 FreskoGel, a notebook foot set for Tucano, was included in the ADI Design Index as a candidate to the Compasso d’Oro Award; in 2013 the floor lamp Tru by Nemo also competed for the Compasso d’Oro award and received the Interior Innovation Award in 2014.
In 2011 he won the Office of the Year award for the design of the interiors of the legal firm Oppenheim in Budapest.
Roberto Paoli is also the creator and curator of exhibitions, initiatives, and events focused on the culture of design.
He held seminars at schools and universities, including the Milan Polytechnic and the IDAS Hongik University in Seoul.
