“68 Objects and projects for a new world” is the exhibition of objects, images and films which, through design, relates the fascinating historical period that also revolutionised the concept of living and Italian Design.
Produced by IDD Innovation Design District and Anteo-Palazzo del Cinema, in partnership with INTERNI Panorama and with the patronage of Milan City Council, the exhibition is an homage to 1968, the year when everything became possible: to dare, to change, to subvert; the past was old and everything new tasted of freedom.
The exhibition, curated by Francesca Molteni, brings together furnishings and objects still in production today which define that historic period. Its aim is to celebrate both the creative flair of the inspired designers who invented the items, and the vision and foresight of those companies that had the open mindset needed to welcome new shapes, functions and materials.
Artemide will be present with several iconic pieces that have become classics of Italian design, including Eclisse by Vico Magistretti, Boalum by Castiglioni Frattini, Tizio by Richard Sapper and Selene chairs by Vico Magistretti.
Key pieces on show at the exhibition include numerous Danese products by Enzo Mari like the silkscreen prints from his Nature series, the Timor perpetual calendar, the In Attesa waste-paper basket and the Lampedusa and Sumatra desk accessories.
