On occasion of the London Design Festival 2019, the Artemide Flagship Store in London presents its new collections, born from collaborations between leading international architectural firms and from research into the most advanced technologies.
A pioneer in the field of lighting design for 60 years, Artemide has once again opened new frontiers in the field of lighting projects starting from a disruptive approach based on sustainable innovation, knowledge, a humanistic approach and an ethical perspective.
In the London showroom, Artemide celebrates the Icons that have become milestones in its luminous history, such as Gio Ponti's Fato, Vico Magistretti's Eclisse, Livio Castiglioni and Giancarlo Frattini's Boalum and Ettore Sottsass's Callimaco, presented together with the historical pieces of the Danese Milano collection designed by Enzo Mari and Bruno Munari.
Innovation and research in the field of lighting with a 360° approach, not only in light performance but also in materials and production – and increasingly sustainable light – are key facets of Artemide’s design approach. These aspects are at the heart of the new products presented during the London Design Festival: the family born from "O” by Elemental of the Pritzker Prize winner, Alejandro Aravena that welcomes a new dimension; the evolution of the nh universe designed by Neri & Hu; the Alphabet of Light System by BIG; Orsa by Foster+Partners; the portable light Come Together by Carlotta de Bevilacqua as well as the newcomer Curiosity by Davide Oppizzi, that has been designed to highlight the beauty of everyday objects.
Sustainability is at the heart of Gople, created from the fruitful collaboration with BIG, which becomes a family with new typological variations and new finishes made with an innovative and sustainable metal vacuum process.
The Discovery Space by Ernesto Gismondi is the evolution of the award-winning Discovery which, in addition to the new square and rectangular shape, becomes an even more magical and scenographic element thanks to the introduction of Coloured and Tunable White light that allows any colour hue and saturation, in addition to pure white.
The Artemide App, that communicates with all the lamps in the Artemide catalogues (with integrated LEDs), demonstrates all the potentials that are enriched with interactive features such as sensors and voice control and new parametric applications such as air control, heat maps and the patented Circadian Rhythm and Target Point.
