Flexia by Mario Cucinella and Funivia by Carlotta de Bevilacqua are among the products selected by the ADI Design Index 2022 and will compete for the XXVIII edition of the Compasso d'Oro in 2024.
Both are a perfect example of Artemide's sustainable innovation.

Flexia

Inspired by papyroflexia, the technique used to fold papyrus, Flexia recalls the Japanese art of origami.

Flexia is a modular suspension that contributes to environmental quality through its sound absorption as well as its light, comfortable and compliant even for office spaces in any position of use. It is sustainable because of its efficiency and the use of recycled and easily recyclable materials.

"Flexia is a game of perceptions between the visible, textural and colored, and the invisible that becomes light."
Mario Cucinella

Funivia

Funivia is an inclusive system that begins with the essentials, with an "alpinist" spirit it discovers a new level of freedom of light in spaces that now moves from interiors to exteriors.
A rope, the cable that carries energy, and nails, the fixing elements in space, are the basis for going far, overcoming the limits given by the rigidity of systems.

On the cable, the distribution channel of the system's energy and the supporting element, different modules of light are connected thanks to a universal hook that is the node of the immaterial network of light management with Artemide App.

It is a sustainable principle at the level of production, distribution, installation, consumption, use, and integration of elements that already exist without necessarily having to create new additional products.

"In Funivia, innovation is a sustainable dialogue that transcends the limits of any spatiality."
Carlotta de Bevilacqua
